This week, our blog is featuring Scott Miller . Scott Miller is a salon and spa owned and operated by Scott and Helen Miller. Opening their first salon in 1985, the Millers have always had one goal in mind and that is to provide the best service possible. Scott Miller is currently located in Pittsford and Webster. Scott miller gets its inspiration from its own creative staff and the effortless French woman’s low-key minimalist, fresh, clean but oh so stylish approach to life.
Hair:One of the salon’s specialties is without a doubt, hair. Scott Miller had the experience of working backstage as stylists at the 2012 Spring/Summer Fashion Week in New York City. That is where they saw a greater focus on a more messy bun and classic looks gone casual.
In style: Mixed textures, polished and frizzy, wet and dry with a lot of variations on ponytails

The picture featured above is from an editorial shoot. Scott Miller believes hair this season should be fun but also look as if a minimal effort was put into it.

For all you traveling fashionistas out there, it is common knowledge that the number one thing on your mind while packing is what clothing and how many items to bring for your journey. Whether you are planning on attending parties or special events, it is most likely that your outfit will be changed multiple times a day making it essential that each and every accessory be on cue. Recently Chantiza Stern, Chief Event Organizer for Rochester Fashion Week, attended Toronto Fashion Week and shared with us some details about her travels.
Chantiza described her experience while packing, “I had never been to a Fashion Week other than Rochester’s, so I was a little overwhelmed as to what to pack,” said Stern.
First Thoughts
Chantiza said that her first thought was to pack all of her fun and most favorite outfits, after taking a step back and she thought to do a little research. Chantiza then went into her closet and took a look at her options. “I love black because it’s easy and can be worn from day to night, so I started with my favorite pair of black leather pants,” said Stern, “I then accessorized a snake skin blouse with the color of the season: tangerine. I grabbed a gold sequin mini skirt, mixed with a casual white tee, a blazer, and I was on a roll.”

By planning your outfits out from day-to-night , it makes for a transition that is quick and easy while always on the move.
Chantiza’s Advice
- To minimize your clothing selection and avoid overpacking, try to get an understanding of the local area you are traveling to, especially other countries and their customs
- Go online and look up the latest trends and see what’s hot
- Look in your closet and see what really grabs you
- And of course, if you don’t need to pack lightly, pack everything you own and go with your mood!
